REMAINING
Good afternoon passengers, and welcome to the marvelous Scylla, heading directly for Napalm Springs... We are expected to arrive in approximately a time... Please enjoy your refreshments and entertainment while we make our way through the coral reef...
YO HO HO HO
In the words of Twerking With the Stars season 15 winner, Smdy Aamberg: You're on a boat! (You're on a boat!) You're on a boat! (You're on a boat!) Everybody look at you 'cause you're sailing on a boat!
It's a little packed on this ship, but for the most part? You're not too crowded. It's made to carry about forty people, so there's enough space to spread out. You can even find little places to be alone, should you so wish. Mostly. Again, you think there might be cameras, but you can't see any of them and even if you could, you wouldn't be able to break them.
The main attraction of the ship is the cabin on the deck. Inside the cabin is a fully stocked bar, complete with mixers and garnishes. A fridge with pre-made meals spans across the underside of this bar, and there's enough in there for everybody on board to have at least three meals a day. How does it all fit? Just trust us, it does. If you try to take more than your fair share, you'll get electrocuted by a mysterious force, so maybe don't do that. Or do, if you're into that kind of thing.
There are tables and booths inside the cabin to hang out in, as well as a dance floor smack dab in the middle of the floorspace. There is a disco ball hanging down from the ceiling in the center of the multicolored dancefloor. From nine PM to midnight, this plays in the cabin, so enjoy your clubbing. At least it's not able to be heard outside of the cabin itself, so if you want to sleep, you can do so on the deck. There's a bunch of lounge chairs out there, go wild. Speaking of, aside from the lounge chairs, on the deck is a small pool with a hot tub extension. It's perfect for lazing about with a drink, or getting to know your fellow contestants.
And why did we tell you to find a lounge chair to sleep in? Well, unfortunately all of the rooms in the sleeping quarters are locked and cannot be opened by any means, save for one. This room has one king-sized waterbed with a funhouse mirror on the ceiling directly above it, an armchair in the corner, and nothing else. The door to this room does not lock, and is weirdly warm. You can sleep here. Not sure why you'd want to, but you can.
And yes, there are bathrooms. Public ones, with stalls and sinks. There is one shower. Keep that in mind.
At the very back of the yacht is what appears to be the engine room, or something like it. It's locked, but the sign on the door reads:

YOUR CAPTAIN TODAY IS FLYINGWAY. PLEASE ENJOY YOUR TRIP TO THE ISLAND.
No amount of brute force or wits can break into this room. If you try to get in anyway, do let us know.

[ she'll rise to her feet, but - oh. shakes his hand while they're here. ]
Rawiyah, by the by.
no subject
[ shakes her hand ]small>
I'm Cait Sith. Now let's see about gettin' you outta these things. [ jumps off the armchair with no hesitation off we go!!! ] Maybe we'll find somethin' else interesting along the way, eh?
no subject
I forgot mine, too, so don't worry! [ laughing ] Thanks for the help, Cait Sith. If nothing else... we'll at least get some exploring in. See what others are up to, or what we've gotten ourselves into.
no subject
Quite! Though I've mostly seen people indulgin' in the bottle, if you know what I mean. Nothin' much else to do around here so far. [ walking like a person. and not like a cat. this is important to note ] If you spot a vent, I could make my way in there.
no subject
Surprised you didn't spot me doing that. Not a lot else to do - unless you want to go for a swim, I guess, though I've never seen water intentionally in a boat like this before. [ that just feels redundant. anyways, walks with him, kind of amused. this is so different from her talking tuxedo cat. ] Sure thing. You watch low, I'll watch high.

I'm not feeling judged, so don't worry any! It's one of my favorite past times, which means I'm just in good company. [ she tilts her head to look down at him in return. ] I grew up in a port city, but, no, we didn't have any ships or boats quite like this. Sails and masts or oars, not...
[ gestures ]
no subject
No engines, then? Just old fashioned sailin'?
no subject
no subject
[ he's teasing. but also please imagine the word fjording in a scottish accent. ]
no subject
Little bit! You been out on open seas before this? Sounds like you're more familiar with these kinds of vessels, too.
no subject
points at her ]
Right you are! Sea travel's necessary to get between continents, so I've been on my fair share of boats. Though I wouldnae say the most sea travel I've done was exactly on a sea-farin' vessel...
no subject
What'd you travel on if it wasn't sea-faring?
no subject
[ pensive. what the FUCK is that. never heard of it. what the heck. at that question his ears droop ]
Well. A would-be airfarin' one, to be honest with ye. The blasted thing broke down while we were flyin'! I thought we were goners for sure.
no subject
[ aw. no, don't droop, kitty cat. she does not hesitate to reach down and pat him on his kitty head. sorry. ]
What is with people and flying in the skies... you're the fourth person - more or less - that's mentioned vessels for the air. But, hey, at least you're here! Means that you weren't a goner.
no subject
[ he isn't on his PLANET. also she can pat his head he is so fluffy. soooo fluffy ]
Planes not a common thing for you back home either, then? Not that they're exactly such a banality for us either! Wouldnae have gotten into one on the brink of disrepair otherwise. Lucky our pilot's such an ace at his job.
no subject
[ you sure are not!!! also wow he's so fluffy... she wants to keep petting him... pat pat pat... ]
Nope, never heard of them. Or any other variety of flying, skyfaring vessels that anybody might be imagining. Lots of regular ships and boats with masts or oars, carriages and carts... horses...
no subject
[ he just lets her pat as long as she wants. thats what cats are for ? ]
Sounds like yours is quite the old fashioned place. Though someone told me the people of their planet have gone to the moon of all places, so maybe I cannae talk! Somethin' like that would be an incredible feat back home.
no subject
[ that's what cats are for!! the one in the elysium doesn't want to be petted ever... this is so nice. ]
The... the moon. [ what. ] I'm not even sure if anyone's conceived of that kinda thing back in Rodinia... you'd probably get thrown into jail by the church for that talk.
no subject
[ cait is a good kitty who is always here for pets or manhandling... ]
The church is that powerful for ye back home still, then? Religion's fallen off for most on the Planet. But the moon... We had a space program ourselves, but it ne'er went anywhere at all. Cannae imagine makin' it all the way out there. And still that's not even the wildest thing I've heard here yet!
no subject
[ no manhandling. yet. ]
Yes and no. Rodinia has the Kingdom of Iria, where I'm from, but also the Papal States of Rodinia, the Union of Knights' States, the Elaman Empire, and the Empire of Luccia. The Papal States the Light of Sanctuary across a decent chunk of Rodinia, so there are believers of the Radiant all over the place. Probably if you were in the Papal States it'd be instant jailtime, but in other nations less so. [ but the last bit catches her attention, and she raises both eyebrows. ] How is that not the wildest thing, Cait?
no subject
[ no not really. but he doesnt know shit about god. ]
A lass earlier told me all about how aliens are so common to her, humans are actually the ones outnumbered!
no subject
[ hm. anyways that makes her blink a few times. ]
Really..? Wonder what kind of place it is she came from, to live like that...
no subject
[ nods. but oh prepare for this as he gestures grandly ]
That's the craziest part! She's actually off her planet entirely! Humans took the stars an' up and left!
